Welcome to GoodnessMercyWorx
We're here to help people build prosperous businesses that integrate God-honoring enterprise, virtuous character development, and benevolence toward others.
And we're glad you're here.
The GoodnessMercyWorx (GMW) vision arises from a secret hope and desire we all share:
"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life."
We all want goodness. We all need mercy. We just never say it out loud.
Instead, the voices in our heads say:
"If I could only catch a break ..."
"If I could just take back that stupid mistake ..."
"If my ship would finally come in ..."
The universal desire just to be treated with goodness and to be granted mercy is what inspired our ecommerce site based on that sixth verse in Psalm 23. Over time, the tug of something more, deeper within the scripture, drew us back to the drawing board. (That something deeper, beatitude, we will be returning to.)
Back at the lab, the Goodness & Mercy verse ultimately revealed much more than the promise of blessed relief: a unique framework for virtue-centered living that also levels up business enterprise. Let's take a look at what we uncovered . . .
Character: The First Currency
All commercial exchange requires one fundamental element: something each other considers valuable. Currency facilitates these transactions. But shekels or sixpence, "foldin' money" or intangible crypto — currency is based on something unseen.
"Build your personal brand," they now say. Back in the day it was "don't lie, don't cheat, don't steal." Heads or tails — call it trustworthiness, call it integrity ... But sure as Uncle Sam backs a hundred-dollar bill, your "brand" has always been backed by the "full faith and credit" of your character.
Speaking of Benjamins, Franklin himself memorably highlighted the tie between virtuous character and wealth when he quipped, "if rascals knew how much money they could make by being righteous, they'd become righteous out of sheer rascality."
A century later, Andrew Carnegie demonstrated that building his steel empire on doing what's right, giving back to communities, and treating people well would create more wealth than traditional business ruthlessness; it made him billions.
And contemporary business research has now long confirmed: principled entrepreneurs operating with moral clarity build more personal wealth and profitable businesses (MIT Sloan, 2019).
Your entrepreneurial dream is gonna need operating capital — the first currency, good character — if you want to make real money, the kind you can stack. Character isn't just ethics; it's smart home economics.
The Virtuous Circle
It's hard out here in the 21st century.
Social and news media monetize hurtful words and actions. Closer to home, we feel the sting of others' selfishness, from acquaintances, coworkers, family (phew, family!), strangers ... like that weird guy tailgating you yesterday. And, truth be told, we sting others too, more often than we admit.
Discourtesy and disregard. Taking ... using. Begrudging and getting even. This passive aggressiveness out here is so pervasive, so routine, that like fish who don't know water's wet, we just call it life.
The good news? We can step off the misery-go-round.
What if you just refused to participate?
In the same way that a chain is only as strong as its weakest link, a vicious cycle can't survive many pattern interrupts.
What if you denied your energy to the perpetual negativity machine? What if a bunch of other values-based entrepreneurs joined you?
Then we'd make space for something entirely different to emerge: for goodness to beget goodness. We each choose to stop fueling the vicious cycle and, in our own little corner of the world, choose to start a virtuous one.
The GMW credo centers on 3 practices that elevate your character, relationships, and lifestyle:
EMBRACING Goodness & Mercy . . . rehearsing past, recognizing present, and relying upon future goodness and mercy, dialing in a new mindset of abundance and gratitude.
ENACTING Goodness & Mercy . . . acting kinder and granting more forgiveness, rippling goodwill outward in widening circles.
ATTRACTING Goodness & Mercy . . . anticipating with hopefulness
natural return — "whatever one sows, that will he also reap"
social reciprocity — "do unto others" ... "scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" ...
"one good turn deserves another"
supernatural reward — because God says He is "a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."
And there's only ONE thing that disposes all three laws to operate in your favor: good character.
What goes around comes back around. That's not wishful thinking — that's what circles do.
Virtue's Visible Footprints
We're taking the road less traveled in the entrepreneurial and make-money-online space.
Where's that road lead? To the Land of Goodness & Mercy, of course.
Okay, we know how that sounds. What if they snicker behind your back? ... like you're off to see The Wizard or something. ("What's so funny 'bout peace, love and understanding" anyway?) Then again, you may hear the slow-clap of congrats as signs of success begin showing up in your life:
MAKING MORE MONEY . . . building your all-in-one business hub for any business you choose. Growing your income means more freedom to work on your terms and more capacity to fund what matters to you most.
BLESSING OTHER PEOPLE . . . using some of your growing resources to help others. Sowing into others' lives, even something the size of a mustard seed, elevates spirits, creates networks of support, and opens doors that swing both ways.
GIVING GOD GLORY . . . acknowledging God as the very fountainhead of all Goodness & Mercy. Credit where credit's due — because karma and "lucky stars" have given you not one blessed thing ever.
This Road Rises to Meet You
As you embrace, enact, and attract more of God's goodness and mercy, your developing character reveals previously unseen paths.
It works like this: You embrace virtuous principles, which naturally leads to treating others better. Treat people better and you start attracting goodwill here below as well as favor on high — just laws of nature and of nature's God swinging into action.
But then it gets interesting.
Though the curveballs and fastballs don't stop, you will start recognizing hidden opportunity and back-handed blessing in whatever life throws at your head. Gratitude actually expands. And that gratitude? — it leads you right back to embracing more goodness, more mercy.
This is a transformation available to anyone who resonates with age-old principles of virtue, whether you're simply values-driven, committedly spiritual, or somewhere on the spectrum.
As we further explore the GoodnessMercyWorx vision of a God-honoring and prosperous lifestyle, you should know upfront: there'll be no instant-riches gimmickry, no name-it-claim-it religious foolishness. Instead you'll profit from ...
